Kids' Daily Poetry Inspiration

Kids' Daily Poetry Inspiration

Are you getting excited for National Poetry Month in April?  We are!  To help you get inspired, each day during the month of March we will post a fun writing activity from some famous children's poets and authors!  We hope to keep the excitement up by offering the Sublime Rhymes Poetry Reading Challenge in Beanstack which hosts some of the winning poems from our own Delaware County poetry contest!  And don't forget to submit your own poetry to the 34th Annual Young Poets of Delaware County Poetry Contest.

March 18 – Today’s Inspiration: Michael Rosen

In his book, What is Poetry? (pg. 45), Michael suggests that one thing a poem can do is – capture a small moment or feeling. Take that small moment and freeze frame it and think about just that one small thing.   Then try your hand at focusing your writing on that one moment in time.
