Delaware County Historical Society via Zoom
Please join us for a presentation by Laurie Grant, Executive Director of Delaware County Historical Society. Ms. Grant will provide an overview of the County’s oldest and preeminent historical society, including information about the Society’s three pillars: Research Library, Museum Gallery and Children’s Education Center. Founded in 1895, by local residents, Delaware County Historical Society remains true to its original mission “to collect, protect, and preserve the history and culture of Delaware County, through the maintenance of historical records and artifacts, making them accessible to all through strong educational outreach.” In addition, Laurie will discuss the restoration work the Society does, such as getting the 1860 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Campaign Banner restored. Delaware County Historical Society also advocates for the preservation of some of the most historically significant sites in the County including their most recent campaign to save the 1724 Chester Colonial Courthouse, located in Chester City. Registration is encouraged, however, the Zoom link is below for last minute participants.
