Wildlife Wednesdays
Beavers, coyotes, and bears, oh my! Did we mention live snakes? And DO snakes have tail? This summer's theme "Tails and Tails" is our inspiration for introducing students entering 1st thru 5th grades to these amazing animals using actual pelts, teeth, and other items to showcase a new animal each week. Starting with a folklore tale, we will continue on with amazing facts and hands-on activities. One week, a local zoologist will be bringing her snakes along with her vast store on knowledge to share.
Due to the more involved nature of this class, younger siblings are welcome to visit the children's library inside with their parents during this outdoor program for elementary students. Registration for this series is week by week with registration opening one week before the class is held.
We are asking students to wear masks for the class, but not racoon ones as they don't cover the nose!
