Teen Reading Lounge - VIRTUAL
Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) is an award-winning, nontraditional book club for teens in grades 7-12, also described as a book club on steriods!
The theme for this session is "hobbies". We are doing a wide variety of activities including cooking, making jewelry, crocheting plush toys, ceramics and possibly more. The activities chosen are based on teens' interests.
In TRL we'll read books & articles, listen to podcasts & music, and use the visual arts to reflect on and discuss concerns that teens face. The choices of what to read, listen to, or view will be made in collaboration with the group members. Through TRL teens will be able to explore issues of social justice through the humanities. Part of the program includes working with peers on a civic engagement project. This cycle runs from Monday, June 7th, 2020 - Monday, August 2nd. We meet weekly in person, outdoors at Municipal Library (501 Bywood Avenue).
