Eastern State Penitentiary- Defining Justice: Past and Present

 

What does justice mean to you? Through social and emotional inquiry-based learning, students will explore prisons past and present and the role they play in society in this live, interactive virtual workshop. Incorporating discussion and a slideshow of photos, videos, and audio clips of Eastern State Penitentiary, an expert educator will lead us through reflection on Eastern State’s original grand objectives, its change over time, and the racial, economic, and geographic impacts of mass incarceration. 

Registration required. Open to students in grades 4th-12th.
