One Cool Colonial: A Web Series Online
Created in the time of Covid-19, this informative, yet fun and quirky web series features retired Radnor teacher Clarissa F. Dillon, Ph.D., who tends the kitchen garden at 1696 Thomas Massey House located in Marple Township, Delaware County. Beginning with the trailer, you will follow the well-known author and researcher on 18th-century domestic arts as the volunteer gardener digs in the dirt --while we learn what life was like in the 17th and 18th Century for Phebe Massey, a Quaker, and her family. On average, two short videos (each under 10 minutes) are posted every month on Vimeo for you to enjoy. Delaware County is rich in Quaker heritage and 1696 Thomas Massey House is a beloved gem that was saved from demolition then beautifully restored and is on the National Register of Historic Places. At this time Massey House is temporarily closed to visitors but we still have much to celebrate!
