Fall Opera Series

Fall Opera Series

The Middletown Free Library is proud to announce our Fall Opera Series! The wonderful Joseph Erdeljac has picked out some opera fan favorites, as well as some never before

presented at Middletown Free Library operas.

We hope you will join us in listening to and learning about three beautiful operas!

Thursday, September 19 & 26 @ 12-2 PM - ROBERTO DEVEREUX  by Gaetano Donizetti.
This is the 3rd of his Tudor Queen series and is the story of Elizabeth and Essex.  It will feature Beverly Sills in this very dramatic role.

Thursday, October 10 & 17 @ 12-2 PMSAMSON & DELILAH by Camille Saint-Saens.
This one is in French and is the familiar story from the book of Judges where the seductress Delilah seduces Samson into telling her the source of his strength.  It is beautiful and has some familiar music that many will recognize.

Thursday, October 31 & November 7 @ 12-2 PM - I PURITANI   by Vincenzo Bellini.
This is a wonderful Bel Canto opera with amazingly  beautiful tunes and will feature the fantastic Joan Sutherland.

@ 12– 2 PM
