Meet the Pharaohs Exhibition
Ancient Egypt is coming to Middletown!! Join us as Sherin Motawea bring over 100 replica Egyptian artifacts to the Middletown Free Library!
Meet the Pharaohs Exhibition and Workshops is a replica exhibition of masterpieces found in the Cairo Museum, Egypt. It has over 100 pieces that display the richness of this fascinating ancient culture.
The Exhibition is setup to cover the following topics:
- History of kings and queens set chronologically
- Architecture
- Mummification
- Jewelry and Fashion
- Communication
- Symbolism
- Deity and Religion
- Daily Life
The Exhibition is hands-on. So please feel free to touch, smell and feel.
The artifacts were carefully chosen to resemble as close as possible the original piece.
Labels are provided to help with the understanding of each artifact. Please also feel free to ask Sherin any questions.
There will be snacks!!!
About Sherin Motawea
Sherin is originally from Egypt. She is a graduate of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management in Egypt where she learned about Egyptology. In 1998 Sherin obtained her first Master of Arts in Museum and Heritage Studies from the University College London, U.K. She then became the Head of the Egyptian Museums Department at the Supreme Council of Antiquities under the supervision of the renowned Egyptologist Dr. Hawass. She conducted a number of educational programs for all ages in Egyptian museums and participated in the exhibition planning of new museums. She is a proud mother of a 5 and 6 years old daughters.
