Summer Camp @ MFL instructed by April Kennedy

For students entering grades 1st-4th

“If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning.” ~ Stanford psychology professor, Carol Dweck

Through a variety of learning activities, (including STEM projects) students will explore, discover, and examine how the brain works and how it gets stronger and smarter through effort and learning (how to have what Dweck refers to as a growth mindset). In return, this will boost students' confidence in their potential, desire to learn, and willingness to work hard. Children will learn and practice effective strategies to accelerate their learning and growth. Goal setting, mindfulness practices, persistence, and resilience are a few of the areas that will also be included. This course is designed to provide early elementary students the tools to live a flourishing life in, and out, of the classroom!
