Longwood Gardens Community Read Event: The Role of Seeds in Society and Culture

This lecture is based on the Longwood Gardens Community Read 2019 selection, The Triumph of Seeds by Thor Hanson. This interactive program will examine the wide range of seeds used in today’s society and culture. From their inclusion in global diets to their presence in creative arts, spirituality, and textiles, discover how relevant seeds are in today’s world. You'll also learn how to properly process and store a menagerie of beautiful seeds to be used for jewelry, cooking, and planting.
This program will be led by horticulturist Mackenzie Fochs.
A limited number of Longwood Gardens passes will be given away at this event. Space is limited therefore advanced registration is required.
