The Cold War in the 1950's

The Cold War in the 1950's

Jeffrey LaMonica, Assistant Professor of History at Delaware County Community College, will present this lecture. Professor LaMonica has presented many successful programs at the library, and has a loyal following here. The Cold War was an indirect war between the United States and the Soviet Union, the two superpowers following the second World War. It was called the "Cold War" because it was a war mostly of words, not of guns and ammunition- although there were small battles called "proxy wars."

This is a Civic and Social Literacy Program of the PA Forward Initiative.
