This beginner-friendly class focuses on one of the most essential techniques in crochet: the magic circle (also called the magic ring) and how to crochet in continuous and joined rounds.
In this hands-on class, learn how to create a secure, adjustable starting loop for projects like hats, amigurumi, and coasters. We will explore how to build stitches evenly in the round, recognize the beginning and end of each round, and maintain consistency.
You will learn:
- How to create and tighten a magic circle
- Single crochet stitches worked into a round
- How to increase stitches evenly
- The difference between continuous and joined rounds
- How to use stitch markers to track your progress
Materials needed:
- Crochet hook (size G/4.5mm, H/5.0mm, or I/5.5mm)
- At least one ball of worsted weight (#4) yarn
- Stitch markers
- Basic knowledge of holding a hook and making simple stitches (like chain and single crochet) is recommended.
