Opera: Semiramide Part 2
Join us for the second part of Semiramide by Rossini.
A drama about the queen of Babylon, as she contends with a love triangle and the displeasure of the ruling Gods of the city. One of Rossini’s last operas, it was out of the repertory for many years due to its difficult score. Joan Sutherland and her husband and conductor, Richard Bonynge, revived it and brought it back into popularity with singers who could manage the difficulty of the musical score.
