Roosevelt Community Center Classroom #4
464 South Old Middletown Road, Media PA 19063.
Free and open to all.
As we prepare for America's 250th birthday, join local historian Jim Segrave-Daly to discuss how Philadelphia celebrated the Bicentennial. Were you there? What do you remember?
Despite the difficulties America experienced with the end of the Vietnam War, Watergate, the economy and other issues, hopes were high that Bicentennial celebrations would help to bring the country together. How did Philadelphia’s events stand up to this goal?
Bicentennial memorabilia will be on display. You are welcome to bring your own.
Jim (thelocalhistorygeek.com) has presented to libraries & civic organizations nationally over the past 15 years. He is an active member of the Radnor Historical Society, American Revolution Roundtable of Philadelphia, Founding Forward, America250PADelco & and volunteer history teacher.
