Rock Hounds: Dig into Geology! - Children

Join us for an exciting hands-on adventure into the world of rocks, minerals, and gemstones! In Rock Hounds: Dig Into Geology!, young explorers (ages 6–12) will become junior geologists as they learn how minerals are formed, identify different types of rocks, and uncover fascinating geological facts.

Children will:

  • Explore the rock cycle through fun, interactive lessons and visual displays.

  • Dig into their own mini excavation kits to uncover real minerals and semi-precious stones.

  • Identify their finds using magnifying glasses, classification charts, and library resources.

  • Create a take-home rock collection and mineral ID booklet.

This STEM-focused program is perfect for curious minds who love science, nature, and getting their hands dirty!
