Challenging Stigma: Helping Friends and Families Understand Addiction
Friends, family and community members are invited to this interactive conversation. We will be joined by a treatment professional and a family member. Together we will address:
• Why it is that some people become addicted, while others do not
• How to respond when we are concerned about someone’s substance use
• How we can challenge stigma and remove obstacles to seeking treatment and support
• How we find and support recovery as individuals, as families, and as a community
