Scratch Coding Club Led by Teens for Kids at Middletown Free Library!

Are you a kid between ages 8-12 who would like to learn Scratch Coding?  Then try out this kid-friendly club run by high schoolers on select Wednesdays at Middletown Free Library. 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27  from 5-6PM. 

In this club, you will learn to create simple scratch projects by block coding, drawing visuals, and even adding a few sound effects!

This scratch coding workshop will run for 6 sessions.

Sessions 1- 3: Introduction to Scratch coding. Explore Scratch blocks and learn their functions. Learn to draw sprites and backgrounds with Scratch drawing tools.

Sessions 3 - 6: it’s time to create projects with your own ideas or with provided themes.

Scratch is a beginner friendly block coding website designed especially for ages 8 to 12.

Participants should have an adult present in the library, and BRING YOUR OWN laptop/chrombook/device.  Tip: phones do not work as well...laptops are preferred. 

Plan to meet at the Main Circulation desk and then head to the large study room.  

 

Registration is Required.  Participants must have a parent in the building as this is not a drop off event.
