Football Takes Center Stage : presented by the Sports Legends of Delaware County Museum

  The Sports Legends of Delaware County Museum's Historian Rich Pagano and museum curator Jim Vankoski will present a special program entitled Delco Football Players Who Played in the Pros.  Film footage provided by NFL Films will be shown in conjunction with the program highlighting the following six Delco stars.

  • Emlen Tunnell, from Radnor High School--the first African-American to be elected to the Football Hall of Fame.
  • Joe Klecko, from St.James High School in Chester, is the only player in the History of the NFL to be selected All-Pro at three different positions.
  • Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, from Chichester High School, who was named to the NFL's all-time team  as a return specialist.
  • John Cappelletti, from Monsignor Bonner High School, a nine year NFL veteran who is the only Heisman Trophy winner Penn State has ever produced.
  • Al Atkinson, also from Monsignor Bonner, started as middle linebacker for the New York Jets when they defeated the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III.
  • Randy Grossman, from Haverford High School, played in four Super Bowls for the Pittsburgh Steelers and is the owner of four super Bowl rings.
