Civil War Nurses with Jane Peters Estes
This program provides information about many of the women (both little-known and famous) who served as nurses between 1861 and 1865 while our country was in the midst of a Civil War. It includes the different paths by which women entered the occupation and includes stories of women who never intended to be nurses but were caught up by the circumstances of war. While a few were later famous (i.e. Clara Barton) most served their country and then lived out their lives in obscurity.
This event will take place in the Community Room. Registration is encouraged but not required; you can do so below.
