Nesting and Overwintering Habitat - a Xerces Society Presentation
Reaching beyond native plants to creating habitat for invertebrate animals is the next step in helping to prevent increasing loss of pollinators and other beneficial animal species. Learn how you can make a difference with some simple and not so simple changes in the way you manage your yard.
Speaker: Dr. Woody Kotch, a local ambassador for the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation and a retired dentist living in Media. He is excited to spread the word on how individuals can be active in helping improve our environment and slow or end invertebrate population loss.
For a bit more context, the Xerces Society is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. As a science-based organization, we both conduct our own research and rely upon the most up-to-date information to guide our conservation work. Our key program areas are pollinator conservation, endangered species conservation, and reducing pesticide use and impacts. The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation
