Are you ready to dive into the world of coding? Join us for a three-week Python coding class using Carnegie Mellon University's CS Academy graphics library! This course is perfect for beginners and young programmers (ages 10+) who want to learn Python, create graphics, and build a simple video game.

Why Learn Python?

Learning Python now will give you a valuable skill that can be used in web development, automation, data science, and beyond!

Course Agenda

Each session lasts one hour and is designed to build your coding skills step by step.

Week 1 (April 14th): Python & Graphics Basics

· Introduction to Python and CS Academy: Get familiar with the basic concepts of Python programming.

· Understanding coordinates, shapes, and colors: Learn to manipulate graphics using Python.

· Creating and customizing interactive graphics: Design your first interactive graphical project.

Week 2 (April 21st): Animation & User Interaction

· Adding movement and animation to graphics: Bring your graphics to life with animation.

· Using keyboard and mouse input for interaction: Learn to add interactivity to your projects.

· Developing a basic game framework: Start creating the framework for your own video game.

Week 3 (April 28th): Build & Code Your Own Game!

· Designing a simple video game: Plan out your video game concept and design.

· Coding game logic and adding finishing touches: Implement the logic behind your game and polish your project.

· Showcasing and playing each other's projects: Share your game with classmates and play the games they've created.

By the end of the course, you’ll have your own playable game and a great foundation in coding!
