Odyssean Book Club
Ridley Park Library’s “Odyssean” reading group is starting a new book in September: Samuel R. Delany’s Dhalgren, which is considered one of the most innovative (and most challenging) science fiction novels ever written. Come out and join us! Participation is free. The group is holding its first meeting on Monday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at the library, and each of the following meetings will be the fourth Monday of the month, ending in May 2025. (We will not have meetings in November and December due to the holidays.) The Odyssean Reading Group reads some of the most highly acclaimed yet challenging novels ever written. Since 2019, the group has read James Joyce’s Ulysses, David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest, Murasaki Shikibu’s Tale of Genji, Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, and others. If you have questions or are interested in joining us, contact Keith Eckert at kaxeckert@gmail.com. Space is limited.
