Sew-A-Thon for The Pad Project
Four Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 5336 are working towards their Bronze Award and are inviting patrons to come and help cut out and sew reusable period pads to send to girls in Africa as part of the The Pad Project.
The girls are asking for help sewing precut pieces together using the official Pad Project pattern. As long as you can sew a straight line, your help will be greatly appreciated. The Girls have set a goal of 100 pads.
We will have some sewing machines, but feel free to bring your own!
The girls will be providing the PUL material, flannel, thread, elastic, velcro and some fleece. They are asking for donations of new packs of underwears; girls sizes 10-16 or women’s small/medium.
Here is a link to the offical Pad Project website, which includes the pattern on how two make the pads: https://toolittlechildren.org/pad-project/
Please consider coming out to help out these ambitious and driven Girl Scouts!
