Happy 50th Anniversary, Newtown Public Library!
Join us for a day-long celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Newtown Public Library! We have a host of exciting activities and events planned for patrons of all ages. Here's a sneak peek at what you can look forward to (subject to change):
- Refreshments: Enjoy delicious cake and punch as we toast to five decades of community and learning.
- Library Tours: Explore our library with guided tours conducted by staff members at the top of each hour.
- Photo Exhibit: Be among the first to view a new photo exhibit in the lobby, showcasing snapshots from the past 50 years.
- Photo Booth: Capture the moment with fun and themed props at our photo booth.
- Oral History Booth: Share your favorite library memories.
- Scavenger Hunt: Participate in a fun scavenger hunt designed for both kids and adults.
- Library History Trivia Contest: Test your knowledge of our library's history.
- Library Card Sign-Up Drive: New library cardholders will receive a special commemorative sleeve for their new cards.
- Raffle Drawings: Enter our raffles for a chance to win fantastic prizes.
Scheduled Events:
- 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Read Aloud Marathon: Sign up for a time slot to read aloud from your favorite library book in our reading marathon.
- 1:30-2 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Join us for the ribbon cutting of our new meeting space, with special guest Representative Lisa Borowski, who played a key role in securing the grant for its construction.
