By Knowing Their Story, We Honor Their Service: A book discussion on Tim O'Brien's THE THINGS THEY CARRIED

By Knowing Their Story, We Honor Their Service: A book discussion on Tim O'Brien's THE THINGS THEY CARRIED

On Tuesday, April 30, 2024 6:30pm-8:00pm, please join Main Line Health HomeCare & Hospice and Radnor Memorial Library for a book discussion on a classic work of American literature that has not stopped changing minds and lives since it burst onto the literary scene.

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, is a ground-breaking meditation on war, memory, imagination, and the redemptive power of storytelling. The session features a panel discussion with Vietnam Veterans discussing their experience, adapting to change, resilience, and their continuous involvement in the community with veterans.

  • Ralph Galati, Vietnam Air Force Veteran and Former POW
  • David J. Humphrey, Vietnam Army Veteran

In 2012, U.S. Congress authorized The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to thank and honor our nation's Vietnam Veterans and their families for service and sacrifice. The Vietnam War Commemoration period of recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, will continue through Veteran's Day, November 11, 2025.
