35th Annual Young Poets of Delaware County Poetry Contest

We are now seeking submissions for the 35th Annual Young Poets of Delaware County Poetry Competition!

Guidelines:
• All children in grades 1-12 who live or attend school in Delaware County may enter.   
• Original poems must be typed on 8 1/2” by 11” paper. Only one new, original poem per student. No more than 1 page. If submitting online, poems must be in MS Word.
• Poem may not have previously won an award.
• Please include student’s name, phone number, address, e-mail (no school e-mails), grade and school on the TOP RIGHT (FRONT) of the poem.  If the information is not listed, the entry will be disqualified. Contact information is for notification purposes only and will not be shared.
• Deadline for submission is April 5th, 2024 to any Delaware County Libraries location or poems can be submitted on-line.  No entries will be returned, please keep a copy of your poem for your records.
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each grade level will be contacted by e-mail by May 3rd. Grade levels may be combined  for judging purposes.
• Winning poems will be published in our annual poetry anthology, and the Mad Poet’s website
• Poets and their families are invited to an awards ceremony & reading on May 19th.
