TEEN READING LOUNGE

TEEN READING LOUNGE

Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) is an award-winning, nontraditional book club for teens in grades 7-12, also described as a book club on steriods!

In TRL we read really good books, talk about the issues that come up, and do creative activities.  Depending on teens' interests, we could do cooking, jewelry making, tie-dye, games, silk screening, henna designs, and more.

In TRL we use the humanities (art, music, poetry, history, etc. ) to reflect on and discuss concerns that teens face.  The choices of what to read, listen to, or view will be made in collaboration with the group members.  Part of the program includes working with peers on a civic engagement project.  We meet on Fridays from 3:30 pm - 5:00pm  in person, at UDTL - Municipal Branch (501 Bywood Avenue).  Masks are required.

Register below.

Teen Reading Lounge is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and supported by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Department of Education, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, Governor.  The views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this website do not necessarily represent those of the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Department of Education, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
