Synthetic Dyes & Indigenous Craft (Science History Institute)

Synthetic Dyes & Indigenous Craft (Science History Institute)

Join us for a virtual visit from Philadelphia's Science History Institute for a discussion on Synthetic Dyes & Indigenous Craft! The bright colors of synthetic dyes profoundly changed the work of dispossessed Navajo weavers in the late 1800s. In this live classroom visit, explore the troubling connections between technology and tradition that are woven into a Navajo “Eye-Dazzler.”
